Resistance / manifesting in steps

I'm manifesting my ex back, when visualizing I go to the end after we've been married. However. I think this might be creating some resistance, because it's difficult to go from barely in communication to seeing us married, I don't think my subconscious buys it. Is there a way to manifest in steps that won't jeopardize the ending that I desire?
