One of the members of our, Anda,  had addressed a very important topic for discussion. There has been a lot of debate lately regarding the false teachings of LOA, and Abraham Hicks. These teachings leave people wondering and worried if they will ever meet the criteria for manifesting. I am including her message so that I can address some of the topics and fallacies of Abraham Hicks. Here it goes:

Anda: I wanted to share a couple of thoughts about overcoming something I experience as, let's call it "the pressure of staying positive" or the "internal/ self - bullying out of negative feelings". Having spent some time reading around the posts within the group, I must say that I finally understand why "mainstream" LOA teachings and techniques never fully resonated with me and why I instinctively preferred Neville.

What I mean more specifically (and I am sure I'm not the only one who has felt this way) is:

The idea that I am responsible for creating / attracting the desired outcome by becoming a "vibrational match" to it seems to put a huge amount of pressure on myself to manufacture and force positivity, enthusiasm, joy etc. upon my feelings, knowing that any slip into fear / doubt / guilt / shame / despair will automatically bring me back to square one and cancel my "creation", thus generating an additional spiral into self-guilt and negativity on top of the one I had already bottled up in the first place. We all know how toxic this can become for one's mental health and having studied conventional LOA teachers for over 12 years, I know first hand that you can get to a point where the pressure to stay positive is so ingrained in your mental pathways that it becomes extremely difficult not to beat yourself down for every single (perfectly legitimate) negative feeling that comes up and to become convinced, day after day, that you have been therefore stagnating from any sort of "progress". I can still hear Esther Hicks in my brain with her blanket solution of "CAN'T GET THERE FROM THERE" as a reply to any sort of nuanced question as to how one can deal with the appearance of, again, perfectly LEGITIMATE negative emotions. To be fair, Abraham does advocate climbing the emotional scale and feeling one's way from bad to better to best, but at least in my experience this still does not remove the pressure of forcing oneself to climb the scale in the first place, nor does it deal with the reality that human emotions tend to be fluid enough that an engineered emotional scale climbing exercise would be needed 3-4 times a day. This is the type of thing that can drive someone insane, if, like me, they got to a point where it's become ingrained in their mind that any negative feeling means you can kiss your desired outcomes goodbye.

How does Neville circumvent this? He advocates loyalty to unseen reality. No pressure to create anything, because creation is finished. Your desired outcome already exists, because everything that can be conceived exists. (As a side note, that simple thought in itself is sufficient to bring me a huge injection of peace). You don't need to vibrationally match anything, you just need to make a choice, to choose where you want the vital force of your feelings, your thoughts, your identity, all that you have best within yourself, to flow. This (to me) is a much more sophisticated way of approaching our relationship with the divine, because it simply requires us to answer the question "who am I?". Your specific desires exist with the sole purpose of helping you answer that question. So all you need to do is honour those desires, believe they have a purpose, believe they are guiding you to your truest expression of self, choose them every day, again and again, stay loyal, with brazen impudence, to the (yet) unseen reality of their fulfilment and the peace, contentment, enthusiasm, joy etc. will come naturally as a by-product of your inner clarity, not as some sort of "creative force". This is the place I have reached over the past months.

Would be grateful for your thoughts on this angle. ? Have you experienced this "positivity pressure" at some point in your study? If so, what is your way of staying faithful to your outcomes, while staying sane and embracing the full spectrum of human emotion?

What an amazing explanation of the frustrations of Abraham Hicks and other similar teachers. You have also given the proper solution to these problems. There is nothing required to manifest, save faith.

"The idea that I am responsible for creating / attracting the desired outcome by becoming a "vibrational match" to it seems to put a huge amount of pressure on myself".

You're telling me! Basically what this does is give you a limit on when and what you can accomplish. It is just another excuse to give people to explain why they aren't manifesting. It made people like me, who were miserable and depressed, look at these teachings with despair, hoping that one day I could be happy enough to manifest.

"This is the type of thing that can drive someone insane". You are not lying. This is absolutely true.

I want to explain something for the benefit of the group, which I will soon be doing a post on. There are no requirements to manifesting. You do not need to wait for your mind's eye to be open, for your vibration to match that of money, to be possessed by an entity, or anything like that. The only requirement to manifest consciously your desire, is the feeling of the desired wish.

FAITH AND GRACE

Mark 11:23 King James Version (KJV)

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Grace is given to us, and righteousness to us, and we are immaculate. We have a clean, fresh slate every single moment of every single day. That means that our spirit is white as snow, and we are constantly manifesting with purity each and every day.

The bible is very explicit and clear on the topics of grace, righteousness, and manifesting, or having God dwell within.

Grace is the undeserving, unearned gift from God. It is our spirit within us, our power to manifest, and it's completely free, unearned. It is a GIFT of God. He does not require ANY works to manifest our desires. No vibration matching, nothing. All that is required of us is faith.

Even in the bible, King David uses the term "cried unto God". It did not say, "I rose my vibration to manifest."

Psalm 77:1 (KJV) I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

The requirement for answered prayers, or in other words 'conscious manifesting', is to have an imagination. Every single human, with no exceptions in this world, has an imagination. Simply feel the feeling of the wish fulfilled, and that is how we can supersede the automatic thoughts and creations, and manifest our desires.

Here are some verses, which I've proven time and time again, that we do not have to do ANYTHING to receive answers to our prayers.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 4:7

7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

Titus 2:11

11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.

John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling within us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Acts 6:8

8 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.

Romans 3:20-24

"But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to ALL who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."

AND ON ABRAHAM HICKS

Hebrews 13:9

9 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so.

Isaiah 43:10

10 “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.

Summary: It is very clear that some teachers are misguiding their students. The issue is that they are taking teachings, which have power in them, and throw them into a blender. So a lot of it works, but they attribute it to false idols, or false teachings, such as laws, spirits, etc. But there is only One Law, the Law of Liberty, through Jesus Christ.

Dream bigger than big. Imagine the end, and all things work together to manifest your desires. Just feel the feeling of the wish fulfilled.
